The audio launch of Snehithudu , Nanban in Telugu was a grand star-studded affair with the presence of several B-town celebs apart from Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Shankar, Harris Jayaraj and Ileana. The audio release was attended by Ram Charan, Dil Raju, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sharman Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, SJ Suryah and others.

The first audio CD was released by Ram Charan who handed it over to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The event was marked by interesting anecdotes shared by Shankar and Cherry.

Shankar said that he had watched ’3 Idiots’ while shooting ‘Enthiran’ in Pune. It did not take long for this top-class director to get immersed in the film and laugh and cry with the characters. This made him take up his career’s first remake movie.

Charan recalled how he danced to the feverish Chiku Buku Raile number from Shankar’s Gentleman to prove to his dad (Chiranjeevi) that he could dance well. He also seemed to regret that he declined the offer by the producer to reprise Aamir Khan’s role in the South Indian remake. “I was the first one to watch this movie even before its release. The producers asked me to do the film in Telugu. I felt that only someone of Aamir Khan’s stature can do this. I would not have said no had they told me that Shankar was going to direct the movie.”

‘Nanban’ that is running to packed theatres in Tamil will soon see light of the day as ‘Snehithudu’ in Telugu.

Marina, apt with the title and theme of the film saw a unique audio launch this morning (January 9) at the Marina beach in Chennai. The audio was unveiled at the beach with a cleanup of the beach having been undertaken. The film directed by Pandiaraj of Pasanga fame stars Sivakarthikeyan and Oviya in the lead roles.

Is there a better place than Marina beach to launch the music of Padiarajan’s next film Marina. And just like the film’s title the audio launch of the film was also quite different. At the event, the cast and crew of Marina cleaned the shores of the beach. Ameer, Sasikumar, Samuthirakani, Suseenthiran, Karu Palaniappan and Thangar Bachan graced the occasion.

There is a particular song in the film which talks about Chennai and the beauty of Marina beach. Penned by Na Muthukumar, Vikram, Sneha, Vimal, Prakash Raj, Ameer and Sasikumar will make special appearance in this song.

Creative, full of life and zeal will be one way to define the audio launch invite of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s forthcoming multi-starrer, ‘Nanban’ that also sees Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana D’ Cruz, Sathyaraj and Sathyan.
Its known that ‘Nanban’ directed by Shankar will see an audio launch at a massive event on December 23 at Coimbatore. And now the audio launch invite of this Gemini Films Circuit venture has become the cynosure of all eyes, thanks to the lively colours and peppy designs introducing audience to the characteristics of team ‘Nanban’.

Be it the cool whiz kid designs for Vijay, a stethoscope for Ileana, to the bird and an upward arrow for Sathyaraj denoting competition, the audio invite is very catchy and is sure to raise more expectations among eager fans…

The PropheC‘s debut album will consist of 16 tracksFor fans it feels like the wait has lasted forever, but on September 2, 2011, ‘Forever‘ has finally arrived. The PropheC‘s debut album will consist of 16 tracks, some which fans have already fallen in love with as the were heard during the Forever Friday campaign, and many surprises which are sure to twist popular conceptions of the established genre.

Work of ‘Forever‘ began over a year ago with the release of ‘Sohni’. Ever the perfectionist however, the track listing has evolved tremendously over the past year, with dozens of songs recorded and few as old as ‘Sohni’ making the cut for the album.

The album was named ‘Forever‘ in the goal of cultivating something unique and lasting – music that will transcend barriers and outlast generations.

When videos of his project Coke Studio Pakistan leaked over the pipes, it stoked all over again India’s love-affair with music from across the border. After the videos were watched, the applauding palms parted, the talents enviously praised, the inevitable question was – forgive the pun – popped: “Why not India?” With our depth and breadth of talent, the patriots of Hindustan declared, we could make the Pakistan edition look like a tepid warm-up act.

Thus, in June, Coke Studio @ MTV launched in India.

In Hyatt’s place was installed Leslie Lewis, erstwhile Colonial Cousin of Indipop vintage who has spent a career shrugging off the moniker Remix Raja. Before launch, he described his new project as “a sound India has never heard before.”

Truth. Part of it included strains we haven’t, mercifully, heard in nearly two decades – the contrived fusion of Colonial Cousins.

But leave that be. We braced for bigger fears.

Coke Studio Pakistan was modeled on the Brazilian show Estúdio Coca-Cola, though the model version featured live concerts instead of in-studio sessions. A refreshing change from Bollywood music was on its way, teleflubbies raised on MTV Roadies felt, but suspended judgment when the schedule drew up names like Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma – achingly tired Bollywood staples. Also, while Hyatt’s credentials were riveted in stone, Lewis’ remained to be tried.

Lewis has won this round. Deservedly so, it seems, for Coke Studio @ MTV did not disappoint. While it hasn’t quite hit the highs that Meesha Shafi and Alif Lohar achieved in the Pakistani show, it has nonetheless proved entertaining. And different, somewhat, for the producers have tried to keep it painstakingly low on Bollywood detritus. The show has introduced audiences to talents like Shafqat Amanat Ali, the Wadali Brothers and Tochi Raina along with artists like Delhi Indirockers Advaita and the Raghu Dixit Project.

And, significantly, it has put the M back in MTV.

Written and crooned by Dhanush himself, the song composed by newcomer Anirudh has got all the ingredients to become the anthem of the youth. Be it the tune or the words or the way it was sung, ‘Why this kolaveri di…’ is not just interesting, but infectious too.

It looks like the one who leaked the rough cut of this single track on the web has got some ‘kolaveri’ on Dhanush. But the rough cut which made waves on the net is not even the tip of the iceberg, as the official version has a lot more to offer, if you could listen with the aid of good sound system.

As Dhanush goes on singing the lyrics, which are loaded with oft-repeated words of teenagers, Anirudh’s beats accompany them aptly. All these things join together to make us hum this number again and again, even long after we’ve listened to it.

If this song is any sample to the entire music album of ’3′, the launch vehicle of director Aishwarya R Dhanush, then more interesting things are in store, we must say.

Well, whatever it may be, the single track as such is truly addictive and is setting whole new trends in Tamil film music.
