So when buying paint always take with you a sample of the color you want.The time you needed for paint to dry depends not only on the type of paint, but also on the surface to which it is applied and on atmospheric conditions. The choice is enormous, but your decisions will be resrticted by the character and condition of the house- and money. If walls are rogh,but not bad enough to replaster, choose something other than paint. Paint is relatively cheap, but avoid distemper, which has to be completely removed before you repaint. A simple alternative would be to use one colour for the room in general with a block of a second co lour in the sitting and dining areas.As well as making design from differently coloured tiles of the same size, some manufacturers make matching tiles – vinyl or sometimes ceramic- in different sizes so that you can lay a rectangular border, say, round a plain floor, or alternatively, hexagonal tiles with square key ones. Even in a smallish house or flat the amount of floor area to cover comes as a shock. the ideal floor usually turns out to be more expensive than your budget allowed for. However, since your floor is expected to last for years and will get the hardest wear of any surface in the house it is worth making sacrifices elsewhere and adding to your floor budget rather than making do with second-best.
