The Unicode Technical Committee has approved a code position for our new Indian Rupee Symbol.Which means we can start using our rupee symbol all around the world in computers, mobile phones and Internet without deviating from Unicode standards. Very soon you will be able to type the symbol in your favorite Internet applications like twitter, Facebook and gmail.
The new code position was proposed by the world famous typographer Michael Everson. The new code position of rupee symbol will be implemented to the ISO standards and all new fonts will come with support for our rupee symbol.
But there is a small problem. You wont be able to type the rupee symbol with your existing keyboard with ease. No more worries. They have a solution for you.
Foradians who first helped you type the rupee symbol on your computers with our legendary Rupee Foradian font has now come up with a
quick and easy solution which will make you type the rupee symbol with out changing the keyboard, while sticking to the Unicode standard.
Here is how it can be done.
* Download the Rupee Keyboard zip file to your computer.
* Extract the contents of the zip file
* First you have to install the new fonts
* Double click the Rupee Installer.exe File and follow the instructions
* This will install four new fonts to your computer with support for new rupee symbol in Unicode recommended code position
* Then double click the Keyboard Install.exe file
* This will install a new keyboard layout in your computer
* To enable the keyboard layout selector right click on the task bar and select language bar from the toolbars menu
* Now you can click on the small keyboard icon and enable the Rupee Foradian Keyboard Layout
* Double check the keyboard layout is active
* Now you can use the grave accent key on the keyboard to type the rupee symbol by selecting the Rupee Foradian Standard fonts
* You can set Rupee Foradian Standard as the default font in browser and start using the rupee symbol in any applications like gmail, twitter or Facebook.

If you can see only squares instead of rupee symbol, please check whether the font selected is “Rupee Foradian Standard” or a font with Indian Rupee symbol mapped to U+20B9 of Unicode. And if your friends can see squares for the rupee symbol you typed in your computer. Dont worry. The squares are actually our rupee symbol, just waiting for the ISO approval.

1. Download the “Rupee_Font_Installer.rar” file.
2. Extract the files. (You will need winrar or 7zip installed in your PC to extract the files)
3. Double click on the Rupee_Font_Installer.exe

go to setting —– > control panel ——> regional & lang option ——> customize ——> then click currency tab
Put currency symbol as ” ` ” click ok
Open excel
go to format cell (Ctrl + 1 command)
click to Number tab ——- > select currency as ” ` ” & ok it

It is easy to use Indian currency symbol in our computer but for the first time you need to know how to use Indian currency font. After knowing using method of Indian Rupee font for the first time, then you can start using that font anywhere to write Indian currency symbol with Indian Rupee font. Here is guide to how to write Indian currency symbol in your computer with the help of Rupee font.
Writing Method of Indian Rupee Symbol by Using Rupee Font:
1. To start writing Indian Rupee Symbol you need to Install Indian Rupee Font.
2. Hope you have Installed Indian Rupee font in your system. After Installing Rupee font open any writing software for example open your Notepad
3. To write Rupee Symbol in Notepad or any writing software we need to first change the Fonts we are using in that software (Notepad)
4. To change Fonts in Notepad navigate to Format >> Font… notepad font changing

5. After navigating to Font… you will see Font changing dialog box select “Rupee Foradian” or “Rupee” Font to write Rupee symbol in Notepadindian rupee font changing steps

6. After choosing Rupee font i.e Rupee Foradian click Ok
7. To write Rupee symbol you need to press Grave Acent Symbol in keyboard which is available above the Tab button in Keyboard see the below image

Note: Don’t forget to change font to default font, otherwise you may not able to write anything in notepad.
This is just an example of writing Indian Rupee symbol in notepad, you can writing Rupee symbol in any writing software by just changing font to Rupee Foradian font.
