VODAFONE LOOKS SET TO BAG THE IPAD IN UK

The iPad is due to arrive in the UK in April and reports are suggesting that Vodafone have nabbed the rights to Apple’s newest gadget.

Vodafone will apparently be the first to stock the Apple iPad when it’s released in April.

The iPad is one of the biggest tech stories of 2010 to date and while Apple’s latest gadget may have polarised consumer opinion, this hasn’t stopped UK operators battling it out to secure the rights to Steve Jobs’ latest gadget.

Now the UK release date has been confirmed as April, UK operators have been going head-to-head in a bid to secure the rights to the iPad.

Initially, reports suggested Orange was the main contender to snag the iPad in the UK. However, reports today have claimed that Vodafone has snatched the rights to release Apple’s latest gadget.

According to the MobileDealsCompared blog, Vodafone will be adding the iPad to an already impressive selection of gadgets like the HTC Desire, the HTC Legend, Sony Ericsson and the Nexus One.

In addition to this, Apple is reported to be having some “issues” with the iPad’s production in China, which will apparently result in a delayed release date – although, it’s looking likely to be late April, according to MobileDealsCompared.
